As a person ages, mineral exposure causes the teeth to gradually darken. Over time, some food, drink, or tobacco products also create unattractive yellowish-brown stains.  Less commonly, you may experience discoloration due to some medications or bacterial infections.

Teeth Whitening procedures for eliminating discoloration to give you a brighter, more attractive smile.  Most often, stains have gotten deep below the outermost layer of the tooth.  Zoom! Whitening uses light treatment to remove the deeply rooted stains and restore your teeth to their natural white color.  Over-the-counter products, such as whitening toothpastes, remove only surface stains.Whitening procedures are not a solution for all discoloration (e.g. darkening caused by cavities). Similarly, whitening does not work on all stains.  Your dentist will discuss your options for care with you.  Some cases that are not appropriate for whitening procedures can be effectively treated with restorative options.

About Dr. Don Nguyen D.D.S.

Dr. Don Nugyen is a 2003 graduate of UC San Francisco School of Dentistry.  Prior to dental school, Dr. N attended UC San Diego where he received a Bachelor's and Master's degree. Dr. N believes that the process of continuing education is not an extra, but an essential component of his work.  Dr. N has taken a range of valuable courses including: bonding veneers, all porcelain crowns, Invisalign, root canal therapy, TMJ disorder, oral surgery and implant dentistry; and will soon earn a fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry.
When not working to perfect your smile, Dr. N is on the move enjoying cycling, volleyball, surfing, basketball, golf, snowboarding, and travel. He recently returned from a two-week, European vacation where he got married in Verona, Italy.
Dr.N and his wife are now proud parents of a baby boy.  7lb 5oz, Christian Nguyen was born October 15, 2009 at O'Conner Hospital.  Mom and baby are doing well and Christian is getting nice and chubby.
Dr. Nguyen has been with our office for over four years and lives locally.
